10/2/15 Homecoming Game and Activities
Friday, October 2, 2015 Activities:
Note: All Friday, October 2nd activities (other than the homecoming court and game) are open to students only.
Class Hallway Decorations:
Freshman Science Hallway DMV (Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia)
Sophomores Math Hallway Texas
Juniors Social Studies Hallway California
Seniors English Hallway New York
Pep Rally:
A 7th period pep rally will be held in the stadium at the end of the day. Weather contingency: a double 7th period pep rally in the gym for grades 9/10 and then 11/12.
Pre-Game Picnic:
4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. on the track/practice field. Open to all students with refreshments available from Chick-Fil-A and Carmen’s along with games and activities.
Homecoming Court and Game:
Homecoming court will be announced between 5:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Members of the court and escorts are asked to arrive by 5:30 p.m. King and queen will be crowned by 6:00 p.m. Kickoff against Walter Johnson High School is at 6:30 p.m.
Homecoming Dance
The homecoming dance will be on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. in the Richard Montgomery High School gym. Tickets must be pre-purchased and students must bring a photo ID (including outside guests). Please see expectations below for more information.
Spirit Week Expectations:
We want everyone to have a fun, safe, and unifying school spirit week. To ensure this, please note the below student behavior expectations during spirit week. Consequences for not meeting the below expectations range from an administrative conference to not being allowed to attend the pep rally, game, and/or dance to suspension/expulsion/police referral.
- Zero tolerance on any bullying or harassment of students during spirit week or at any time.
- Bullying and harassment includes, but is not limited to, “hazing”, “tagging”, or “marking” students, speaking negatively about a student’s grade level, or any action which makes a student feel unwelcomed at Richard Montgomery.
- Paint or face painting is not allowed on campus- if students choose to apply face paint they must do it prior to coming to school.
- During spirit week, all normal dress code policies apply- this includes senior togas!
Homecoming Football Game and Dance Expectations:
- Zero tolerance on the use of intoxicating substances such as drugs or alcohol at both the game and dance.
- Backpacks will not be allowed into the game.
- There is no re-entry for either the game or dance.
- Anybody entering the dance is subject to search and must present a photo ID (student ID, government ID) for entry. This includes outside guests.
- There will be a coat/item check at the dance but Richard Montgomery High School is not responsible for lost items.
- For the dance, shoes will be allowed on the dance floor and shoes must be worn at all times- no bare feet.
